A new format among continuous speeches, international innovators, contaminations between technologies, AI and design is born in Rho Fiera Milano from June 9 to 12.
From a simple exhibition space to a real dynamic laboratory: the new hub where innovation takes shape in real time

Milan, April 20, 2026 – On the occasion of PLAST 2026, the triennial international trade fair of reference for the plastics and rubber industry scheduled from June 9 to 12 at Rho Fiera Milano, the satellite show 3D Plast is transformed by establishing itself as one of the most innovative and dynamic formats of the entire event.
No longer an exhibition space, but an experiential hub designed to tell the evolution of additive manufacturing in a clear and material way. Thus was born 3DplastLab, a platform where content, people and technologies come together to redefine in real time the way innovation is presented and shared.
Already present in previous editions, 3D Plast takes a leap in scale this year: from an area dedicated to 3D printing to an international ecosystem of comparison, a laboratory capable of bringing together research, industry, design and new technological frontiers, including artificial intelligence and advanced design.
The renewed identity of 3D Plast was born from the collaboration between Plast’s organizational secretariat and Simone Maccagan, Business Development Manager at Gimac and CEO & Founder of eXgineering, and is developed, designed and coordinated by Pierpaolo Ruttico, Founder and Managing Director of Indexlab, a digital fabrication laboratory at Politecnico di Milano.
The beating heart of this new edition will be the presence of dozens of globally prominent innovators, selected through a mapping process that involved more than 1,000 industry players from around the world.
For the entire duration of the exhibition, the area will be animated by a continuous schedule of talks, presentations and moments of discussion, creating a constant flow of content on the theme of advanced additive manufacturing. The topics will include: new materials, artificial intelligence applied to production, computational design, distributed credit, sustainability and new industrial models.
Within an area of over 400 sqm, visitors will be able to come into direct contact with prototypes, applications and concrete projects, interacting physically or digitally with their creators. The exhibition will be organised around four thematic areas, which represent the main evolutionary directions of the sector:

● Materials – new matter, new performance
● Technologies – advanced processes and machinery
● Building systems – applications and production models
● Design techniques – new approaches to design.

Each topic area will be awarded a prize for the most innovative project, emphasizing the most advanced solutions in terms of research and application.

With this new format, 3DPlastLab definitively goes beyond the traditional exhibition model and establishes itself as a laboratory in which to stimulate the creation and long-term planning for the development of content, relationships and visions on additive manufacturing, where professionals, companies, researchers and decision-makers do not observe innovation, but give birth to it, plan its development and see it take shape in real time from edition to edition
